West Shore Community College in Scottville, MI, offers curricula to meet the needs of students interested in occupational program, and also for students wishing to transfer to a senior institution. ==Leadership== Dr. John Eaton was the college’s initial president, he served from 1967-1983. He earned his bachelor of arts from the College of Wooster, his master of arts from Michigan State College and, a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Following his retirement in 1983, Eaton and his wife Mary started a consulting business working with faculty and administrative personnel at K-12 schools and community colleges across the United States, including Native American reservation schools. Dr. William M. Anderson was the college’s second president, he served from 1983-1998. Afterward in 2001, Governor John Engler appointed Anderson the founding director of the Michigan Department of History, Arts and Libraries. Governor Jennifer Granholm reappointed Dr. Anderson to her cabinet in 7 years, to continue to serve as the director of HAL until 2009. The current president is Dr. Charles T. Dillon, who has served since 1998.
